Let’s Talk Bookish – Having A Blogger Identity Crisis

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well! As it is once again Friday, it is time for another Let’s Talk Bookish edition. Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion. This weeks topic is all about having a blogger identity crisis!

A blogger identify crisis is not something that I have ever considered but the more that I think about it, the more that I think it is something everyone will probably go through.

Have you ever had a blogger identity crisis?

So far, I am yet to have a blogger identity crisis, but I have only been blogging for just over a year, so I am sure there is still time for one. The closest that I have ever come to one is a couple of weeks into starting blogging. After spending hours picking my theme and designing graphics that I thought worked, I decided to change it all. I didn’t think that the colours and branding that I had initially picked suited what I wanted Bex the Bibliophile to be, so I changed it all, and I mean everything.

Has an identity crisis ever led you to significantly change the direction for your blog?

I think an identity crisis led me to change my graphics, and it has all worked out well in the end. I prefer the designs that I have gone with, but it took me a long time, which annoyed me. But an identity crisis has never led to me changing the direction that I have taken with my book and the reviews and content that I have written.

Do you think having an identity crisis every once in a while can help you become a better blogger, or is it just a sign of insecurity?

I think that an identity crisis can always help you as it is a sign that you are not happy with what you are doing and that there is something that you want to change, so you should always listen to yourself subconsciously. I don’t necessarily think that it makes you a better blogger, as some people know what they want from the moment they start something, and for others, it takes a couple of attempts, and either way is valid.

I had fun coming up with this post, especially as a blogger identity crisis is something that I have not had to face yet, but I’m sure I will some time in the future. Have you ever had a blogger identity crisis? How did it go? Let me know in the comments below!
