Welcome to my stop on the Allied Book Tour by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. Thank you so much to Love Book Tours for including me in this tour and to the authors for my copy of the book. I have already review Hunted which was the first book in this series so please do check that out. I will try and keep my review as spoiler free as possible.

The sequel to Hunted is upon us…
Six weeks after Edith and her vampire family were exiled from their clan, Darren waits at the rendezvous, poised for a reunion that might never come. With every passing day, his hope of ever seeing the vampire who showed him what it means to be human again dwindles.
On the run from Hunters and her own clan alike, Edith strives to protect those in her care, all the while fighting to get back to Darren and the family she’d long dreamed of. But even when their paths do cross again, reunion comes at a cost.
When Mr. Heartsong brazenly declares war on all humanity, allegiances will be tested. Will Edith side with the man she’s come to believe may be her destiny or the creator who gave her a second chance at life?
To find out more about Allied visit:
Much like my time reading Hunted, I enjoyed reading Allied, but I wanted quite a bit more from it. While Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk had developed the characters quite a bit more from when we first saw them, there wasn’t as much development for other things.
Compared to the first book, we got a lot more character development, which I appreciated. We got to learn quite a bit more about their motivations and what drives them forwards. We also got to see some more of their interactions, which helped to round out who they are. There was also some developments in the romantic relationships, which I appreciated; however, I do still not completely understand them. To me, the relationship between Edith and Darren still felt like Insta-Love but as the book progressed, it did start to get better as they did begin to talk about their feelings.
I found that Allied moved extremely quickly when it came to moments, which is not something that I loved because I wanted to spend some more time in situations and see their impact. Some of the actions scenes felt too quick for me to understand what was happening, so I would have enjoyed a couple more pages explaining what was happening in them. This would have added to the story as I would have felt more attached to what was happening.
The plot in Allied didn’t move as far as I wanted it to, as it still feels as if we are building up to this big moment which is only starting to happen right at the end of the book. I did find myself getting a little bit bored in the middle of the book as it felt as if it wasn’t going anywhere. In the third book, I hope that the plot will begin to pick up the pace and progress at a greater rate.
I think that I will still pick up the third book in the series as I am intrigued as to where it is going to go and the direction that it is going to take. I also hope to see some more of the supporting characters, such as Parker and Dan, as I think that will really help.
