Top Ten Tuesday – Animals in Books

Hey guys, it’s Tuesday again so it means it’s time for Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is animals in books.

I thought that I would find this topic a lot easier than I did, but I ended up struggling coming up with ten animals. But I did manage to compile a list, so here it is!

Doomslug from Skyward

I loved Doomslug in Skyward and the amount of sass that she gave to Spensa. The way that she would imitate Spensa’s actions was just adorable. I hope that we get to see more of her in future books.

Delivery Otters from House of Earth and Blood

The Delivery Otters in House of Earth and Blood are just adorable and I would love for them to deliver me all of my book post (which would mean I get to see them frequently).

Hook from A Deal With The Elf King

I loved Hook in A Deal with the Elf King. I loved the way that he supported Luella throughout the book. I also think that his involvement allowed me to see more of Luella’s personality.

Pantalaimon from The Golden Compass

I have only ever read the first book and watched the original movie but I loved Pantalaimon in both. I loved his relationship with Lyra.

Ghost & Nymeria from A Song of Ice and Fire

I loved all of the direwolves in A Song of Ice and Fire but Ghost and Nymeria are the ones that I remember the most. The way that they were there for the Stark children was amazing, and I would love one of my own.

Chairman Meow from The Mortal Instruments

I love the level of sass that Chairman Meow has towards all of the characters in the Mortal Instruments. Some of the moments that he is in are just hilarious.

Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web

I thought I would also bring in some more classic animals from books, and the first I thought of was Charlotte.

Winnie the Pooh and Friends from Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh and all his friends are still some of my favourite animals from books. I love all their relationships with each other and Christopher Robin, they are just some amazing characters. But I have to say that my ultimate favourite is Eeyore!

Peter Rabbit from Peter Rabbit

It has been a very long time since I read Peter Rabbit, but I remember loving him as a child. He would get into some hilarious schemes, which always made me laugh out loud.

I am also going to give an honourable mention on this list to Milo from the Shadow and Bone TV adaptation. Even though he is not in Six of Crows itself, I am going to say that he counts because I absolutely love him!

There you have it, some of my favourite animals from books. Let me know some of your favourites below!

  1. CHARLOTTE’S WEB is on my list today. It’s such a classic that I expect to see it on lots of lists. I can’t believe I didn’t even think of the Winnie the Pooh characters – they’re wonderful fictional animals with such distinctive personalities. Great pick!
