Hey Everyone, I thought I would partake in some weekly memes and Top Ten Tuesday sounded like one I would enjoy. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This weeks prompt is Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To
Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

I was meant to read Kingdom of the Wicked when it first can out last year, but I never got to it. It sounds like a book that I am going to love, and I have heard such great things about it, so it is one of my priorities for 2021.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

The Daughter of Smoke and Bone series is one that I have meant to start for several years. Finally, in 2020 I purchased Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so I now just need to read it. Fingers crossed for 2021.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

Starting some of Brandon Sanderson’s adult fantasy has been a plan of mine for several years, and I thought 2020 would be the year to do it. Sadly it did not work out that way, so 2021 will finally be the year that I will.
Starsight by Brandon Sanderson

Starsight is another Brandon Sanderson book that I planned to read within 2020, that I didn’t get round to. I read Skyward in early 2020, and I wanted to be up to date with the series by the end of the year. Sadly I failed at that. Starsight is a massive priority for me in 2021, so hopefully I will have read it early in 2021.
Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb

I planned in 2020 to join the Catch Up Book Club as they are currently reading the works of Robin Hobb. However, I didn’t even start the first book in the universe. Hopefully, in 2021 I will be able to catch up, but I’m not hopeful.
Fortuna Sworn by K. J. Sutton

The Fortuna Sworn series is a series that is loved by some of my favourite Booktubers, so I wanted to check it out for myself. However, I didn’t manage to get round to it, even though I already own the book. I have Fortuna Sworn on my TBR for February, so fingers crossed I get to start the series then.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

From Blood and Ash is a series that has got quite a bit of hype in 2020, and it is a book that I think I am going to love. It has everything that I love from my fantasy romance books, so I’m sure when I get round to it, it will be a new favourite.
The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty

The City of Brass came on my radar quite late in 2020, but I did want to read it urgently. But sadly I didn’t manage it. I think that I will love it when I do get round to it, especially as it is inspired by Egyptian mythology.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

Nevernight is a series that I have wanted to get to for many years, and it has even been on several TBR’s in 2020. But I am still yet to read it. Fingers crossed for 2021, as I can’t wait to dive into this series.
Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco

The final book that I should have read in 2020 was Capturing the Devil. I planned to finish the Stalking Jack the Ripper series in 2020, but I didn’t manage it. I love this series so far, and I want to see how it finishes, hopefully, I will in 2021.
There you have it, the ten books that I was meant to read in 2020 but didn’t.
Were there any books that you wanted to read in 2020 but you didn’t manage? Let me know in the comments below.
I bought Daughter of Smoke and Bone at a used book store years ago and still haven’t read it!

City of Brass was one of mine too. It would be nice to read that this year as well as The Assassin’s Apprentice but I’m not positive that will happen.

Ah right, i do like the sound of it. Idk but the cover feels like a victorian era kinda vibe book to me? 😂🤷🏻♀️
I mean shouldn’t really judge a book by itself cover
