WWW Wednesdays – 13th January 2021

Hey Everyone, I hope you are doing well! I thought in 2021 I would take on a new weekly meme and WWW Wednesday’s seems like the perfect one for me. WWW Wednesday’s is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and all it involves is answering three simple questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Cut Her Out in Little Stars by Danielle Kasper. This is a book that was sent to me by the author ready for a book tour hosted by Terminal Tours. I am really looking forward to this because it is an adult science fiction, which is not a genre that I read from a lot. So far I am really enjoying this, so fingers crossed I continue to.

What did you recently finish?

The most recent book that I finished was The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I rated this book 3 stars as while I enjoyed it, I wanted a little bit more from the world building and the pacing felt a little bit off. My favourite part of the book has to be the characters, I loved their friendship and how they all helped each other. I also loved how The Raven Boys embraced Blue and let her join their group. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series is going to go, especially as the book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The next book that I need to read is Secrets of the Starcrossed by Clara O’Conner. This is an ARC that I have been given on Netgalley, and I am really excited by it. It is a story about what could have happened if the Roman Empire never fell. It apparently features two star-crossed lovers, which is a romance that I love, so hopefully I love this book.

  1. I think this is the first three-star rating I’ve seen for The Raven Boys, and it makes me all the more curious about the series! I’m used to seeing people raving on about it. xD I love more middle-of-the-road reviews, though. I still definitely need to read that series (and now I feel like I’m about the only one who hasn’t yet).

Oooh, Secrets of the Starcrossed sounds fabulous! I’m so curious in how they envision a world where the Roman Empire is still a force to be reckoned with, and star-crossed lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Might have to check that one out. Enjoy your reading this week!

    Here’s my WWW post.

    1. I definitely enjoyed it, but I wanted so much more. The story didn’t really follow what I thought it would be based on all the promotion. Don’t worry, this was my first time reading it, so I am also very late to the party 😀
