I thought for today’s post I would do the End of the Year Book Tag. I keep seeing it pop up on my timeline so I thought I would give it a go, especially as it might motivate me to finish the books that I mention. I couldn’t find the original creator of this tag but if you do know let me know so that I can give them the credit.
Are there any books that you started this year that you need to finish?

There are two books that I started this year that I need to finish, but one is more realistic than the other. I started The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones as my spooky read for Halloween, but I never got round to finishing it, so I really hope to have it done before the end of the year. The other book that I started this year and have not finished is Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, this was meant to be a project for June, but I didn’t end up finishing. Les Misérables is my favourite musical, and I wanted to be able to say that I had read the book as well.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I don’t really have an autumnal book to transition into autumn, but I do have a book planned for the transition into winter. Hopefully, in November I will be reading The Raven and The Reindeer by T. Kingfisher, which features a snow queen, so it seems suitably wintery.
Is there a new release you are still waiting for?

The only new release I am still waiting on is A Sky Beyond the Storm which is published on my birthday in the UK. It is the final book in The Ember in the Ashes series, so I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy to see how the series ends.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

The three books that I am absolutely desperate to read before the end of the year are The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson, Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab. I currently only have The Year of the Witching of my TBR, but hopefully, I will get to the other two in December.
Is there a book that could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I have a feeling that Blood and Honey could become one of my favourites of the year, I am not sure that it will be able to beat House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas, but it may well be up there.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2021?
I have some rough plans heading into 2021, with regards to readathons and new releases that I am desperate for, but there is nothing set in stone yet.
There you have it, my answers to the End of the Year Book Tag!
Let me know in the comments if you have any reading plans for the rest of the year!
Well, still working on Little Women. Want to finish it before the Christmas Holidays- I own a Christmas Treasury of classic short stories and poems.
In terms of 2021- well, starting in 2020, I decide to do the challenge of 50 classics for 5 years. Seems impossible

Ah Les Mis is my absolute favourite musical too! But I’m really intimidated by the number of pages the book has haha… all the best in finishing it and do let us know what you think of it, okay?

Wow, good for you for starting Les Mis! I read that brick of a book in 2014 because it’s also my favorite musical. Maybe I’ll reread in 2021? Great post!
