Welcome to my new book blog. I hope to do a wide range of both reviews and other bookish related posts.
So to start with I thought I would begin with the Book Blog Newbie Tag which will allow you all to get to know me better.
1) Why did you start this blog?
I started this blog to be able to be more involved book community and to be able to get my ideas and thoughts about the books I read into the world; and also to find like-minded bibliophiles.
2) What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I have lots of different ideas for concepts and posts that I want to write, and I hope they will be interesting and unique. Also, just bringing my individual opinion on books and being able to broaden my horizons with my reading.
3) What are you most excited for about this blog?
I am most excited to be able to start and feel that I have a further purpose to the hours that I already spend reading, and possibly allow me to spend even more hours doing the thing I love.
Starting a blog is also entirely new for me, so I am looking forward to learning and being able to improve on what I deliver the further into the journey that I am.
4) Why do you love reading?
I love reading because it has got me through some tough times in hospital and has allowed me to escape from the world. It also just allows me to be able to fully immerse myself into spending time reading, without any other purpose than just enjoying my time spent with my nose buried in a book.
5) What series got you into reading?
I feel that the first book that I can distinctly remember getting me into reading was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This series allowed me to fully become immersed in a world and a set of characters. From that point onwards, I would always have a book in my hand.
Although I can always remember reading as a child, and one of my favourite childhood reads was The Magical Faraway Tree Collection by Enid Blyton.
6) What questions would you ask your favourite authors?
I would love to ask them what truly inspired them to write these amazing stories that we all love so much. I would also be interested to know what they think they would be doing if they weren’t an author.
I know these questions are mundane, but I think that it makes authors even more surprising that they can write these amazing stories and still be a normal person at heart.
7) What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
To start with, the challenge will generally be learning to manage a blog and the struggles that come with it. But I hope to quickly overcome this with both practice and confidence as I move further in my journey.
Another challenge will be my overall confidence in the writing that I produce and my hope that anyone will be interested in what I have to say.
8) When did you start reading?
I remember reading during my childhood, but I got into reading aged twelve and again during quarantine, as I had all the time in the world to read.
9) Where do you read?
Mostly sat in bed or on the sofa, depending on who is in the house at the time.
When I was younger, I also spent a lot of time reading in hospital waiting rooms, but they were definitely not the most comfortable chairs.
10) What kind of books do you read?
The majority of my TBR is fantasy, be that Young Adult, New Adult or Adult. Otherwise, I will occasionally read Contemporary or Historical Fiction.
I have also started to branch out into reading more Middle Grade books with the help of Jadeyraereads and How to Train Your Gavin.
Hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit better!
